Work Placement + PGC

PGC Study

Earn a Postgraduate Qualification While Gaining International Experience

Alongside hands-on experience in an international work placement, participants work towards a postgraduate qualification, either the Online Postgraduate Certificate (PGC) in Business Administration or an Online Global MBA (GMBA).

Delivered and awarded by the University of Salford, the academic program combines flexible online learning with structured in-person workshops provided by Mountbatten. This blended approach ensures a well-rounded learning experience, preparing participants to excel both academically and professionally.

About the University of Salford

Located in Greater Manchester, UK, the University of Salford traces its origins to the opening of the Royal Technical Institute in 1896 and has been a leading university for over 50 years. Known for its commitment to high-quality education and strong ties to industry, the university focuses on employability and practical learning. With a dynamic academic environment, it equips students with the skills needed to thrive in today’s global workforce.

Through its collaboration with Mountbatten Program, the University of Salford offers participants the opportunity to further their academic and career ambitions through two distinguished programs of study:

1. PGC in Business Administration 12 months London-based online learning

2. The Online Global MBA 12 months London-based online learning + 12 months additional online study post Mountbatten placement

A Transformational Learning Experience

These academic programs complement the hands-on, real-world work experience gained through the Mountbatten Program placement. By blending practical training with academic learning, participants receive a world-class education that supports their long-term career growth.

This approach aligns with Mountbatten’s mission to foster international and cross-cultural understanding through experiential education, global exposure, and personal development.

PGC – what is it and who is it for?

A PGC (60 credits) is a shorter taught postgraduate award which provides Masters (180 credits) level training in a specific area but takes less time for a student to complete. It takes around half the time of a PGDip (120 credits) to complete, and is therefore ideal for anyone who wishes to learn more about a subject without having to go on and complete a dissertation or consultancy project. It is also suitable for anyone who cannot commit financially to a full Masters degree.

The PGC can also be used to work towards a Masters course, if you decide that you would like to continue your studies and meet the necessary requirements.

How Will You Be Assessed?

Assessment methods consist of Case Study Analysis, Business Reports and Spreadsheets, Financial Statement Analysis, Presentations, Business Simulation Exercises, Simulated Media Interviews and Business Pitches, Reflective Blogs, Personal Development Plan and a Structured Research Proposal.

How It Works

The PGC is a 6 to 12-month study program that serves as the first part of the Online GMBA.

Mountbatten also facilitates workshops to complement your internship and online learning experience. Throughout the program, you will engage with industry experts, expand your professional network, and participate in real-world business simulations to develop strategic leadership and problem-solving skills.
